A.C.E. Achieving College Excellence

"Don't Gamble with your Future"

Mission:

The mission of ACE is to provide a structured opportunity for incoming students from diverse and international backgrounds (including Latino/a, Black/African-American, Asian-American/Pacific Islander, Native American, International Students, Multi-racial and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning) to participate in a peer mentoring program.

How it Works:

Participants will be intentionally paired up with a student who has successfully completed at least one year of their undergraduate or graduate career at UNLV. This mentoring relationship will be formally established for one year. In addition, participants will commit to other components of ACE such as skill-building workshops and academic guidance sessions. Students who complete ACE will be formally recognized for their accomplishments and will be expected to be excellent student leaders at UNLV.

Purpose:

ACE serves to guide incoming students through their first year of college while laying a foundation that will empower them to excel academically and earn beneficial leadership experiences to help them become an integral part of the UNLV community. Active participation in this program will positively contribute to their post-undergraduate careers.
